Itinerary

1:00 P.M ~ Arrive at Yoders Amish Home ~ 6050 State Route 515 just North of Walnut Creek

Directions ~
If coming in from State Route 39, turn North on SR 515 in the village of Walnut Creek.  Continue about 3 miles and Yoders Amish Home is on the right.
If coming in from SR 62 from Winesburg, turn South on SR 515 and Yoders is ahead about 3 miles on the left.

You will take a guided walking tour of 2 former lived in Amish homes, select a fresh baked item in the home bakery, (baked item is not included in the price) visit the barn with many farm animals for observation and petting, enjoy a buggy ride with one of our local Amish residents and tour the one room school house. This portion has moderate walking and stairs.

3 :00 P.M.  ~  Depart PROMPTLY for the 2 Hour Amish Heartland back road tour. The back road tour includes stops at 2 *Amish Artisans, a detailed narration on the Amish Culture and family style meal in an Amish home.
The meal consists of freshly baked homemade bread, peanut butter spread, salad with 2 homemade salad dressings, roast beef, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, noodles, green beans, hot and cold beverage and assortede homemade pies, served family style. Tax and tip are included for the meal.
The tip for the tour guide is not included, but appreciated.

*Artisans could include a basket or candle maker, leather goods, quilts, or broom maker.

5:00 p.m. ~   Return to Yoders *(if no Meal is available )
5:30 p.m. ~   Arrive at the Amish home for the evening Meal.
7:15 p.m. ~  Return to Yoder’s Amish Home

Important Details:
Please note that a minimum of 8 total reservations are needed for a meal in an Amish home. In the event that the minimum is not met, we will return to Yoder’s at 5:00 p.m.

Itinerary:
9:15 Arrive at the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center. The center opens at 9:00 in time for souvenir shopping.

9:30 Depart with our tour guide.

9:45 - 12:15 Back road tour with stops at 2 local bakeries and buggy ride.

12:15 - 1:15 Haystack brunch in a private Amish home, with frozen fruit slush and Apple Cobbler for dessert.

1:30- 2:00 Conclude with a stop at one Amish Artisan and back road tour.

2:00 Return to the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center.

Each individual or couple will receive a small loaf of fresh baked bread by your Amish cook and a small cookbook of the recipes.

History and Heritage Tour Dinner Tour

Itinerary:
2:00 ~ Arrive at the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center to tour the historical mural, "Behalt." Behalt is the name of the mural that teaches the
history on a 265' x 10' cyclorama mural. It is a German word that means to be remembered or to hold on too.

3:00 Depart for the 2 Hour Amish Heartland Back Road Tour. We use an 11 passenger high top Sprinter van.
The back road tour will focus on learning the up to date culture along scenic back roads, We will visit one local Artisan and take a Buggy
Ride.

5:30 Evening meal in an Amish home. Menu consist of homemade bread, salad, hot and cold beverage, roast beef, baked chicken, noodles,
green beans, salad, mashed potatoes, and assorted homemade pies. Tax and tip are included for the meal and tour guide.

You will be emailed or mailed a confirmation upon making your reservation.  All tours are held with a Visa, Mastercard or Discover.

All tours WILL DEPART PROMPTLY. No refunds will be given if you do not arrive on time. Tours take place rain or shine.

Christmas With the Amish

Itinerary:
Get in the Spirit of Christmas with our 10th Annual "Christmas with the Amish" Tour. December is a beautiful time to visit Holmes County.

Our tour will take you to the remote places of Holmes County where the Amish shop. Our local artisans will share their specialty goods such as candle making along with a demonstration, basket makers followed by the culinary talents and Holiday Meal at an Amish home. The menu consists of homemade bread, Turkey, Ham, Sweet Potato Casserole, Corn, Seven layer casserole, holiday punch and assorted pies.

Each person will receive a handmade Christmas Card by your host family as they share their Christmas traditions.
